Hey everyone! Kalli here!
I've been doing a lot of thinking recently (rare, I know), and I've decided that in order to properly figure out where my next stage in life will be, I should first go to grad school.
"More school? Why? What does that mean for your projects? What about your website? What about this forum?"
Those are all fantastic and valid questions. Allow me to answer them in order.
"More School?"
>Yes. Thankfully, I know what I'm getting into with graduate school. Not only have I had friends and coworkers that went through a graduate program of what kind or another, I have also done sufficient research and have enough experience to know where I'm going, how it'll be, and more. Thankfully, because of all this, I know exactly what courses I want to take, when I'll be able to take them, and how long the program will be.
"Why?"
>As I alluded to earlier, I'm kind of in a rump with my life. I have no clear direction on where to go. I don't know how I can best use my knowledge. I'm just kind of aimlessly wandering through the ocean of life.
"What does that mean for your projects?"
>Well... I hate to say it, but... I'm going to need to cut down on all the different projects I do. If you know me personally, you know that I like to keep busy with a billion different projects that all take way longer than normal because I cycle through them. That's going to end soon. Starting in June, I'll be way busier than I have before in my life. I need to focus on what projects I give my limited free time to. Above all else, I will continue to do Let's Plays. They are my means of escaping and relaxing, even if I'm rushing to get a week's videos out on a Sunday afternoon. Outside of my Let's Play channel, I will be putting my other two channels, Mini Pack and Close Encounters With Da12thKind, on a several-year hiatus. I'm sorry to those of you who have really been enjoying either my TCG or video essay content, but this is how it will have to be, for now. With my non-YouTube content, I will only be focusing on two things at a time. First and foremost, I want to get back into making Gaming and Creating. It's been on the shelf for too long and needs to be finished (which is 12 issues in total for Volume 1). The second project will be Genesis Station, a visual novel I'm chipping away at.
"What about your website?"
>My website has certainly been in a weird state of limbo. There won't be updates for quite some time, and then, bam! a whole slew of updates will come out. I will try to be better about posting my videos to my website. Every day, I become more and more dissatisfied with the current state of YouTube and want nothing more than to escape the bullshit of its algorithm. I know that once I get all of the backlog from Stardew Valley - Year 1 (Let's Play #12) to Kirby Super Star (Let's Play #40), I will working hard to promote both my website and this forum more and more on TikTok. I will also be reworking how I promote my Patreon and Etsy store, so people will know where to support my work.
"What about this forum?"
>Currently, I'm hosting this forum on a free plan thanks to ProBoards (you might have noticed the little ad thing in the footer of this website), so there's no worry about this going away anytime soon. I will try to be more pro-active about letting everyone know what the current state of my projects and life are in the appropriate boards.
I think that's everything? Starting in June, I will be picking up a second part-time job to try to earn as much money as possible, and this Fall 2023 semester will have me working the equivalent of a full-time job all the way until when the Masters program starts in Fall 2024 (note: I have not yet applied for the Masters program, but I do have the qualifications for instant admission). Once the Masters program starts, I'll be taking classes full-time and working part-time.
Thank you all so, so much for reading. I love you all. d(^w^)b
